How To Root A Verizon Galaxy S5 – The Samsung Verizon Galaxy S5 is a famous version of the Galaxy S5 smartphone. Though it has a slight difference between different S5 models and itself, some of these differences are found in the Verizon bloatware. But it’s not easy using 2 GB RAM, especially in this modern day. This 2GB comprises lots of bloatware and removing the bloatware can gain you up to 0.5-0.8 GB RAM space freed up. And you can free up space by rooting the phone, though, this is no easy task. But if you follow the steps I will provide you below, carefully, then you can be successful in rooting your Verizon Galaxy S5. Steps To Root A Verizon Galaxy S5.

This version of Galaxy S5 arrives with a locked bootloader, which implies that the device is difficult to root. The device does not allow the installation of any custom recovery app/file or even TWRP recovery using ODIN Flash directly. Given that the TWRP recovery must be installed on Galaxy devices before you can successfully root them. To root your device you will need the SuperSu Beta App along with the TWRP Recovery, which allows you to easily flash SuperSu Beta App into your device. I will be showing you two methods to root your device, but before that, here are a few things to watch out for and put in place;

  • Check and know your device model number.
  • Endeavour to charge your device’s battery to over 50%.
  • Backup your files to an external drive
  • Find the CID Checker and download. Then extract the .apk file and install.
  • After installing the app, open it and if you get 15, pick method 1 and follow the steps. But if you get 11, then you go with method 2 and follow the steps. The steps are similar but involve different files.
  • Go to your “settings”, then “About”, click on “Builder Number” 3-4 times simultaneously to enable the “Developer Option”. Now go to the “Developer Options” and activate OEM Unlock and USB Debugging Mode.
  • On your PC, download and install the Samsung USB driver
  • Still on your PC, download ODIN software, and on the ODIN list pick the Oreo version above. Then install ODIN it.
  • Download the following files and the external SD; Download Apex Launcher, Towel root (Direct Mirror), SuperSu.apk( Lastest version), Safestrap and BusyBox.

N/B: Don’t install any of the files before the commencement of any of the methods below.
