BOCA CHICA, Texas – There’s a severe warning for people living close to the SpaceX South Texas Launch Site, especially residents of Boca Chica in the Cameron County and this news has caused panic amongst resident.

Elon Musk SpaceX launch is bad news for locals is bad news for local residents because according to the warning, a ‘Malfunction’ during a test at SpaceX Facility could shatter windows which can lead to lost of property or live.

According to the letter given to residents at Boca Chica Village, SpaceX will be conducting space flight activities on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. to 4:15 P.M.

The letter goes on to explain that a siren will sound ten minutes before the flight to notify residents. Officials are suggesting anyone in the area to temporarily vacate during the flight or at a minimum to be outside. This is due to the possibility of a malfunction causing an overpressure event that could break windows.

Comments posted under the Brownsville Herald article include, “Doesn’t sound good to me that they have to evacuate their homes all because Space X is testing” and “I think spacex should be prepared to pay for the window replacements.”

In addition to the alerts, local law enforcement announced planned road closures on the only highway available to nearby residents, and to an area beach.

The warning also reads in part, “it is recommended that you consider temporarily vacating yourself, other occupants, and pets, from the area during the Space Flight Activities.”

In July, SpaceX launched the Starhopper for the first time, from the same site. Flaming debris from that operation led to brush fires that spread across about 100 acres.
