Distribution and Transport Manager UK Visa Sponsorship Opportunity

Summary

We are looking for an experienced and active Distribution and Transport Manager to manage the effective running of our logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for the supply chain processes, managing teams, and driving continuous improvement projects to optimise overall performance. A great chance for experts with a solid background in logistics management, warehouse operations, and process optimisation to make a difference to the success of the business. You have to speak Dutch fluently.

Duties

• Plans the optimum use of workers and operational equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure the least potential disruption to services.
• Coordinates transportation of people, movement, handling, and storage of goods in transit; analyzes space utilisation, manpower, and distribution expense to develop future distribution policies.
• Ensures compliance with statutory restrictions on hours of work, licensing of crews and transport equipment, operational safety and efficiency of equipment, insurance of vehicles, and other statutory regulations.
• Maintains harbour channels and berths and arranges entry, berthing, and servicing of ships in liaison with ship owners, crew, customs officials, and dock and harbour staff.
• Supervises daily operations at a railway station.
• Ensures the maintenance of airport runways and buildings; communicates with fuel and catering workers to ensure sufficient supplies; and responds to any complaints and issues raised by airport users.

Requirements

• Past experience leading logistics or warehousing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent understanding of P&L management of distribution operations.
• Thorough grasp of supply chain principles, logistics strategies, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Experience with transport management systems (TMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and process optimisation techniques.
• Experience with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and shipping and receiving operations.
• Experience operating forklift trucks and other warehousing equipment; a necessary certification is preferred.
• Proven experience of leading process optimisation projects using continuous improvement tools, e.g., Lean or Six Sigma.
• Great organisational skills with emphasis on efficiency, safety compliance, and team leadership. This post is suited to a proactive professional passionate about optimising distribution processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation’s supply chain network.
• Fluent in written and spoken Dutch and English required.
