Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Pastoral Support Worker to join our lively educational community. In this important role, you will provide pastoral and emotional support to students to help create a safe, inclusive and caring environment. Responsibilities
- Develop trusting relationships with pupils to improve their emotional well-being and personal growth.
- Give individual mentoring sessions to students who have social or emotional issues.
- Identify students who may need further pastoral support in conjunction with teachers.
- Develop and implement plans to promote healthy behaviour and mental health in the school community.
- Tailor methods to specific needs and support children with exceptional educational needs.
- Plan and lead group activities that build social skills, confidence and resilience.
- Keep up-to-date records of student progress, concerns and interventions for safeguarding.
Skills (cont’d)
- Demonstrable experience of working with children or young people in an educational or youth work context.
- Strong awareness of teaching methods and strategies for helping different learners, especially those with special education needs.
- Good mentor skills and the capacity to motivate and inspire pupils.
- Strong communication abilities to confidently communicate with students, staff, parents and external agencies.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies for child protection.
- A passion for building inclusive environments where every student is valued and supported.
Salary
£25,420.00 – £31,200.00 per annum
