Role Description

As a Domiciliary Care Worker with GYC, you will be part of a professional and supportive team, providing personal and practical care to people in their own homes. This is a very fulfilling position for those who wish to make a meaningful difference to their local community, serving clients with a wide range of care requirements and promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities

Provide high-quality personal care in the homes of service customers, including:

• Washing and dressing.
• Care of catheter and stoma
• Toileting and continence care
• Support mobility needs using authorised techniques and equipment
• Assist with the preparation of meals and serving food and drinks
• Supervise and support medication protocols and keep correct records
• Help keep your living spaces clean and secure by:
• Light home chores (e.g. laundry, cleaning, tidying)
• Supporting shopping or errands (when appropriate in the care plan)
• Observe and record any change in the service user’s condition to the Care Manager
• Keep detailed records of every care provided, in compliance with business policy.
• Record all home visits in the Electronic Call Monitoring system.
• Work in accordance with Social Care Wales’ Code of Conduct and GYC values
• Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, particularly Health & Safety requirements
• Continuous training and development (completely provided by GYC and partners)
• Perform any other appropriate duties as specified by individual care plans.
