Responsibilities

• Perform full and interim vehicle servicing and routine maintenance.

• Replace brake pads, brake discs and other braking components.

• Repair suspension systems, including shock absorbers, springs and suspension arms.

• Replace clutches and carry out related mechanical repairs.

• Diagnose and repair engine faults and other mechanical problems.

• Perform oil changes and replace filters.

• Inspect and repair steering and braking systems.

• Replace timing belts and timing chains where qualified.

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.

• Work on a variety of vehicle makes and models.

• Maintain high standards of workmanship and comply with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.

• Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing and general mechanical repairs.

• Practical experience with brakes, suspension, clutches and engine repairs.

• Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy garage.

• A full UK driving licence is preferred, but not stated as essential.

• Willingness to complete a one-week fully paid trial at the Dagenham garage before moving to the Romford workshop.
