Major Duties

• Plan and provide activities that are stimulating for children physically, emotionally socially and cognitively
• Supervise children during playtime, mealtime, rest and outdoor activities to ensure their safety at all times
• Keep detailed records of children’s progress, daily routines and attendance
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about the development and day-to-day experiences of their child
• Support the adoption of early childhood education curriculum that are consistent with best practices
• Advocate for positive behaviour, manners and social connections amongst youngsters by setting a good example
• Work alongside team members to provide a warm and welcoming nursery environment that promotes learning through play

Learned

• Experience of working with children in a nursery or other childcare environment
• Thorough knowledge of principles of early childhood education and phases of child development
• Demonstrated management or leadership capabilities of young children or team members
• Excellent communication abilities in English Ability to communicate well with children, parents and colleagues
• Relevant childcare qualifications/certifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Childcare qualifications)
• The ability to drive is a plus, not a must, flexibility to support varied operating demands as required
