About the Position

As a Senior Nurse (General), you’ll utilise your leadership abilities to ensure our residents receive the outstanding care we’re known for, in a Barchester care home setting. We will require you to be a hands-on clinical leader who can build a secure and supportive environment for our residents with diverse physical and emotional needs. You will use your professional judgement to make key clinical choices, from assessing the needs of a new resident through to implementing safeguarding procedures and administering medicines in compliance with NMC standards.

As part of your wide variety of duties, you will mentor and support your staff to ensure they have the clinical training to achieve the highest levels of nursing. As a Senior Nurse (General) you’ll have the freedom and autonomy to accomplish things the right way and be truly valued and acknowledged for what you do.

ABOUT YOU

To join us as a Senior Nurse (General), you will need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration, and a mentoring or supervision certificate. An up-to-date knowledge of the most recent clinical practices is required, as is experience of producing treatment plans and detailed risk assessments. We will also be looking for an awareness of regulatory frameworks such as DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical Society recommendations. You will have experience of working with older people, and have been a clinical mentor, including guiding newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship, and be a natural leader and problem solver. You will be committed, driven and resilient with a proven record in delivering improvements to attain quality care.
