Position Overview

We are searching for an energetic and well organised Transport Manager to manage our transportation operations. In this critical position you will be responsible for planning, executing and continuously improving our logistics procedures to ensure on-time delivery, cost effectiveness and safety. Your leadership will inspire excellence in transportation management systems, warehouse operations, and supply chain coordination, cultivating a culture of innovation and responsibility. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strong transportation strategies that correspond with company objectives, emphasising process improvement and efficiency.
• Manage everyday transportation operations including shipping & receiving, freight scheduling and route planning utilising modern Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Develop and maintain connections with third party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure service requirements are met or exceeded.
• Supervise warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory management using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems like AS400.
• Review profit & loss statements relating to transportation costs; identify areas for cost reduction without sacrificing service quality.
• Drive safety programs, including adherence to transportation restrictions and periodic safety audits.
• Work with supply chain teams to improve warehouse operations, optimise procedures and conduct continuous improvement activities.
• Use forklift credentials and warehouse knowledge to assist with operational needs as required.
• Maintain accurate records of transportation operations, incidents and performance measures for reporting reasons.

Experience

• Supervised experience in transportation or logistics operations in a fast-paced setting.
• Good knowledge of logistics concepts, supply chain management, warehouse operation.
• Hands on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and process optimisation approaches.
• Proven ability to effectively manage profit & loss responsibilities.
• Shipping and receiving operations, forklift operation and warehouse safety regulations.
• Experience working with third party logistics providers (3PL) in coordinating complex shipping solutions.
• Great communication skills and the ability to work proactively on problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
