Provide specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people aged 0–19 with complex physical disabilities, developmental difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Work three days a week at Richard Cloudesley School, supporting children with complex physical and learning disabilities, and two days at Northern Health Centre, supporting mainstream schools and clinic-based services.

Independently manage a complex caseload and conduct specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions and treatment planning.

Support children’s participation in school activities and promote their independence and development.

Oversee the provision of therapeutic equipment for use at school and home.

Deliver, monitor and review occupational therapy services specified in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Conduct clinic-based assessments for children and young people with movement difficulties.

Train and support parents, teachers and other professionals.
-
Collaborate with schools to develop Individual Education Plan (IEP) targets and provide staff training.

Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior colleagues, trainees and other professionals.
Requirements
-
Hold a diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
-
Have current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
-
Possess specialist training in areas such as upper limb rehabilitation, splinting, postural management, sensory approaches, OT CPIP, CO-OP or OPC.

Have specialist experience managing complex paediatric caseloads involving physical disabilities, developmental difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Demonstrate experience in splinting, postural management, positioning and therapeutic equipment provision.

Have experience developing and delivering training to other professionals.

Understand paediatric occupational therapy assessment tools and outcome measures.

Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and the ability to analyse complex clinical information and produce high-quality reports.

Be able to assess occupational performance, plan interventions and deliver evidence-based care.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, schools and partner agencies.

Be capable of working independently, managing competing priorities and exercising sound professional judgement.
-
Experience in service development, clinical audits or quality improvement is desirable.

Pass the required Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
