Do you consider yourself to be caring, patient, and dependable, and wish to make a significant difference to someone’s life? We are searching for motivated and dedicated Support Workers to join our welcoming team at Invercare.

As a Support Worker, you will give person-centred care and support to individuals with, but not limited to, learning difficulties, autism, mental health issues, and physical disabilities.

Main responsibilities:

Personal care

• Help with daily tasks such as washing, clothing, toileting and feeding when necessary.

Promote independence

• Encourage service users to make decisions and to live as independently as possible, and assist them in this.

Assistance with everyday tasks

• Assistance with preparing food, cleaning, shopping, and medication management.

Emotional support

• Provide reassurance, create trust, offer encouragement, and offer companionship.

Monitoring and reporting

• Identifying and reporting changes in physical or emotional health to senior staff.

Community Engagement

• Help persons gain access to the community, attend appointments, or participate in social events.

Safeguarding

• To promote the safety and well-being of service users in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Documentation

• Keep detailed records of support given and results obtained.

What we are looking for

Personality

• Passionate, understanding, compassionate
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to operate successfully as part of a team and on one’s own
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and evenings
• Experience in a similar capacity or equivalent qualification for health and social care, but not essential as training will be offered.
• Possibility of sleepovers

preferred:

• Experience in a support or care role
• SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or a desire to work towards it
