About the Role

As a Home Care Assistant, you will play an important part in helping people to live freely in their own homes, helping to protect their dignity, privacy, safety and welfare.

You will be delivering compassionate, person-centred care to clients with a variety of requirements, allowing them to remain comfortable and independent, and making a significant impact to their day-to-day life.

You will work closely with clients, families, healthcare professionals and the wider PureSoul Care team to deliver outstanding care in line with CQC standards and company policies.

Main Duties

What You’ll Do

• Provide quality personal care including bathing, clothing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assist clients with mobility, transfers and placement using appropriate equipment when needed.
• Assist with medications in accordance with company policies and training.
• Prepare food and serve food.
• Provide nutrition and hydration.
• Light housework duties such as cleaning, laundry and shopping.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support self-determination and encourage choice and dignity.
• Help clients access their local communities and attend appointments.
• Follow personal care plans and risk assessments.
• Observe and monitor clients’ physical and emotional condition.
• Any concerns or change in health should be reported to the Care Coordinator or the Registered Manager immediately.
• Keep accurate electronic records of care on company systems.
• Comply with safeguarding protocols, infection prevention and control, health and safety regulations and CQC Fundamental Standards.
• Always respect confidentiality and professional boundaries.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

• Caring, compassionate, and reliable.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A readiness to learn and a cheerful disposition.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Good English, both written and spoken.
• Working hours are flexible and include evenings and weekends.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Driving your own car.

Desired

• Experience in home care, residential care or domiciliary care before.
• Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care.
• Experience in medication administration.
• Manual handling training.
• Basic IT skills to complete electronic care records.
