Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist community dental care, including conscious sedation and treatment under general anaesthesia.

• Lead and improve community dental services and patient care pathways.

• Provide clinical leadership, staff supervision and professional development.

• Participate in research, teaching, clinical governance and quality improvement.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers and represent the service at professional networks.

Requirements

• Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).

• Inclusion on the GDC Specialist List in Special Care Dentistry.

• Recognised specialist qualification, such as an appropriate membership qualification and CCT or equivalent.

• Extensive experience in special care and community dentistry.

• Competence in sedation, general anaesthesia pathways and specialist dental treatment.

• Experience in teaching, research, clinical governance and service management.

• Appropriate life-support certification and satisfactory DBS checks.
