The Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Network Administrator to join our growing security team in London City. You will be responsible for the protection and monitoring of the security posture of all client environments under Nexgen Communications Ltd.
Nexgen Communications Ltd is a UK technology firm delivering managed IT services, cloud solutions, cyber security, internet connectivity, networking solutions and payment technology services to businesses across the United Kingdom. We are looking for a driven and talented Network Administrator to help us maintain and grow our IT infrastructure and client network environments.
Main Responsibilities
- Install, install and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance & availability, dependability & security of IT systems.
- Set up and maintain Windows and Linux servers, cloud-based services and virtual environments.
- Install, support and maintain broadband, VoIP, business connectivity solutions and PDQ payment terminals network equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network, hardware, software and connectivity issues for internal users and clients.
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access restrictions with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- System maintenance, security patching, virus management, data backups and disaster recovery methods.
- Technical documentation, network schematics and asset inventories will be maintained.
- Work with technical teams to deliver infrastructure enhancements and new technology projects.
- Follow firm IT security policies, data protection standards and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
You are…
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent certification.
- Experience in network administration, systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and network security.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary
Pay: £31,500.00 – £38,000.00 per annum
