The Function
To serve as the focal point of our team, VeryConnect is looking for an organised and trustworthy operations specialist. In this position, you will handle HR operations, financial administration, and general business administration with the goal of making sure our internal “engine” functions smoothly.
Your primary duties will consist of, but are not restricted to:
- People & HR: Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including contract modifications, internal policies, and visa sponsorship procedures, from onboarding to offboarding. You will oversee a small team’s area of work and assist other managers in directing the company’s values.
- Recruitment: Oversee the entire hiring process by creating job descriptions, vetting applicants, and handling the offer and negotiation phase.
- Systems & Security: Maintain daily stability, encourage security best practices, and keep an eye on data alarms while serving as the main administrator for important internal tools.
- Business Operations: Manage office-related issues (rates, insurance), assist the CEO with ad hoc work, apply for outside funding, and arrange for different third-party services.
- Financial Administration: Oversee daily costs, customer invoicing, and reconciliations. Make it easier for our external accountants to receive information. This includes authorising payroll and serving as the main point of contact for year-end and VAT filings.
Concerning You
- You are at ease working with various teams around the company and have expertise in a startup setting. When necessary, you demonstrate confidence in your ability to delegate while working closely daily. We would want to know if you:
- possess experience in business operations or human resources in a fast-paced B2B or SaaS setting.
- Whether you are writing a new employment contract or examining a customer invoice, you must have an exacting eye for detail.
- Show off your excellent leadership abilities, line management expertise, and capacity to assist and unblock team members.
- are knowledgeable about technology and at ease handling the administrative backends of programs like Xero and Google Admin.
- Be a trusted point of contact for delicate issues by communicating clearly and empathetically.

The Logistics
- Working schedule: Monday through Friday, full or part-time choices are available.
- Contract: Maternity coverage for a 12-month fixed-term contract with a high chance of extension or permanent transition. We are searching for a long-term “central pillar” for our team as VeryConnect grows, and we see this contract as a possible entry point to a long-term career with us.
- Glasgow is the preferred place for working three days a week, while alternative hybrid arrangements are also an option.
- There are no online exams or presentations involved in our hiring procedure.
