The role is:

An amazing opportunity for a Senior Health Care Support Worker has arisen within the Cardiology Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children.

We are searching for a passionate, highly motivated, dynamic, and personable person with good communication and interpersonal skills who is willing to undertake continual development.

All roles will be considered for sponsorship eligibility against current Home Office regulations. Only once these have been satisfied may NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)

Length of time, Place, and Way of working:

  • This is a part-time role for 34.5 hours
  • 7 days rotating dayshifts and nightshifts are your working hours
  • This role will be based at the Royal Hospital for Children
  • Please note that the compensation is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Main duties:

Work in unit 1E, a 14-bedded inpatient unit offering national cardiology treatment for children and young people across Scotland, enabling the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Knowledge, training, credentials, and/or experience necessary to perform the job:

  • SVQ Level 3 or equivalent award
  • Basic reading, writing, and maths
  • Past experience with children
  • Great communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Willing to train and become proficient in 6 months in:
  • Vital Signs Recording
  • Care of Pressure Areas
  • Nasogastric Feeding
  • Feeding through a gastrostomy
  • Handling by hand
