- Position: Band 8b Principal Psychological Practitioner / Principal Clinical Psychologist.

- The role provides senior psychological and clinical leadership across acute and urgent mental-health services.
- Responsibilities include clinical practice, psychological assessment and treatment, consultation, supervision, teaching, service development, workforce development and quality improvement.
- The successful candidate will work with complex mental-health presentations across different care settings.
- The position involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to strategic development of psychological services.
Requirements
- Doctoral-level professional training in Clinical Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society.
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Eligibility for entry onto the Register of Chartered Psychologists.
- Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more specialist areas of psychological practice.
- Significant post-qualification experience, preferably at Senior/Band 8a level.
- Experience providing specialist psychological assessment and individual/group treatment.
- Experience across different settings, such as inpatient, outpatient, community, primary and secondary care.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or clinical supervision is desirable.
- Strong clinical, communication, leadership and team-working skills.
- Ability to work professionally and effectively with complex and distressing clinical situations.
