Summary

Join our energetic team as a Nursery Assistant and contribute to a caring and stimulating atmosphere where young children flourish with your passion and dedication. In this position, you will help to supervise children, help to create a safe and stimulating setting, and assist with daily nursery operations. Your leadership and energy will motivate young brains to positive growth experiences.

Responsibilities

• Watch children throughout play, learning, eating and nap times to keep them safe and engaged.
• Support early childhood educators in implementing developmentally appropriate educational programs.
• Help to keep the childcare clean, organised and pleasant and to implement hygiene and safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents and team members to report on progress and daily activities.
• Help in the administration of classroom routines and behaviour control tactics in a good and constructive manner.
• Assist management in planning activities, trips and special events to enhance learning experiences.
• Offer observations on child growth at team meetings and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare/nursery setting is a big plus.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in child care.
• Good communication abilities in English to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities to lead children safely and to help team members.
• Management skills to help organise everyday tasks and keep order in the classroom.
• Having a valid driving licence is an added advantage to cater to outings or transportation needs.
• Childcare certification or other appropriate training is desirable but not essential; willingness to attend training as required is anticipated.
