Knowledge

Essential

• Understands the role of the Echocardiographer in healthcare and disease
• Committed interest in echocardiography and its application in the clinical environment

Qualification

Essential

• A 1st or a 2:1 in either an undergraduate degree (including an integrated masters degree) in Cardiac Physiology (PTP) or a relevant scientific subject (eg pure or applied physics, Biology or Human Biology or Sports Science (if significant scientific content)
• Alternative/vocational qualification plus sufficient and relevant underpinning knowledge and skills in Cardiology, evidenced by appropriate voluntary registration with the RCCP/Academy of Healthcare Science or willingness to work towards

Desirable

• BSc Honours in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology)

Experience

Essential

• Previous experience working within a Cardiology department. Good understanding of cardiac diagnostic testing and procedures
• Good IT skills, Word, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation packages

Desirable

• Able to analyse and assess scientific, technical, and medical literature
