At Apple Pharmacy in Craigend, we are looking for a driven and meticulous dispensing assistant to join our team. In this position, you will assist the pharmacy staff in providing our community with high-quality pharmaceutical services. In addition to offering top-notch customer service and following all legal and regulatory requirements, you will play a crucial role in making sure that drugs are administered effectively and safely.

Sponsorship is possible with a skilled worker visa.

Important Duties

Medication Dispensing: Under the guidance of a qualified chemist, assist with the precise preparation, marking, and dispensing of prescriptions.

• Stock Management: Verify deliveries, make sure storage is done correctly, and keep inventory records up to date to help control stock levels.
• Patient Interaction: Be polite to patients, respond to simple questions, and refer more complicated ones to the chemist.
• Compliance: Strictly abide by all applicable laws and regulations, including those pertaining to health and safety regulations, confidentiality standards, and best practices for pharmacy operations.

Administrative support includes processing transactions, keeping accurate records, and helping with administrative duties like data entry, filing, and phone enquiries.

• Quality Assurance: Make sure that every dispensing area satisfies the pharmacy’s standards and is tidy and well-organised.

Key Competencies and Qualifications:

Experience: A dispensing qualification is preferable; if not, comprehensive training will be provided to the chosen individual.

• Attention to Detail: Excellent precision while managing drug labels, paperwork, and prescriptions.

Communication: Proficient in both written and spoken communication, with the capacity to engage with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals in an efficient manner.

Organisational Skills: Excellent ability to set priorities, efficiently manage time, and perform under pressure in a hectic setting.

IT Literacy: Proficiency with pharmaceutical management systems and conventional office applications; we employ Analyst PMR systems

Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of Scottish pharmacy law and ethical standards.
