Overview of the Job
To assist with the day-to-day operations of our Indian restaurant, we are looking for an experienced and driven Assistant Restaurant Manager. The chosen applicant will collaborate closely with the restaurant manager to guarantee top-notch customer service, strict standards for food quality, and efficient daily operations. In addition, the position involves overseeing restaurant operations in the manager’s absence, including holiday cover, monitoring employees, and assisting with business success.
Important Duties
- Help the restaurant manager with day-to-day operations
- Collaborate closely with the restaurant manager and provide direct reports on staff performance, customer input, and operational issues
- During shifts, keep an eye on the floor and front-of-house employees
- Make sure you provide outstanding customer service and professionally address any issues from customers
- Uphold strict guidelines for food presentation, cleanliness, hygiene, and quality
- Recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of support personnel
- Effectively coordinate the front-of-house and kitchen crews
- Assist in managing inventory levels, supplier orders, and stock control
- Verify adherence to food hygiene and health and safety laws
- Manage the tills, cash, and end-of-day reporting processes
- When necessary, assist with delivery and takeaway operations
- If the restaurant manager is absent or on vacation, assume responsibility for running the establishment
- Make sure that all opening and closing processes are carried out accurately
- Encourage sales growth and assist in meeting operational goals
- Keep your workplace upbeat, professional, and team-oriented
Conditions
Prior restaurant or hospitality management experience
Strong communication and leadership abilities
