World of Warcraft games is updated almost every month. To enjoy the latest user interface and new features, you may need to update your ElvUI with the latest addons.

In this guide, I will show you how to do that without losing your settings or your profile.

How to update ElvUI on Windows and Mac

Step 1: Visit Takui website

Step 2: Create an account or Login using your username and password if you already have an account.

Step 3: After login, scroll down to the bottom of the page to locate download link.

Step 4: On the top menu bar, click on “Clients” and Select either Windows or Mac depending on the operating system you are using.

Step 5: Get the downloaded ZIP file onto your desktop

Step 6: Open and Extract the contents on the Zip file (Unzip it)

Step 7: Back up your WTF folder, and Interface folders to the cloud allow for safekeeping and the ability to preserve your game/addon settings when playing on other PCs, like at a friend’s house, for example.

Step 8: Double Click the setup get the .exe file (from the unzipped files) to install the news ElvUI. Follow the steps given on your screen.

Step 9: After installation, you will see an icon on your screen called Takui Client. Open it and sign in with your account you have created.

Step 10: Afer logging in to your account. Proceed to click on “Update.”

You are done updating your ElvUi. If anything has broken, you can simply restore the file you backed up.
