You can easily check your messages on Doublelist and in this guide, I’ll be showing you 5 steps to go about it.

First of all, you can check your messages on Doublelist by clicking the new messages box (inbox tab) found at the top left corner of your screen. If you have new messages, you’ll find them there.

Step 1: Select your two lists

You can check your messages on Doublelist by opening a conversation with a user or by checking your inbox. However, you cannot access your lists directly from an inbox.

To open your lists, first select one of your two lists and then click the open button under its options button.

When you open a list, you’ll be able to see all of your conversations. Simply select back to inbox from one of your list options to return to an inbox.

Step 2: Click each button in turn

This is an important step because you won’t be able to tell if your Doublelist application is working properly unless you click every button.

You must see that each button has an associated action and that when you click a button, nothing happens.

If you get any errors in Step 2, it means you either did not set up your install correctly or there is something wrong with your server connection or database login credentials.

Step 3: Start with your typing your name, before selecting it from the list

To begin a new search, enter your name and press the space bar. If you already have a message from that person, it will be displayed in bold lettering directly beneath your name.

When you see your message, click on it to find out more about it and where it is. Open a new tab or window and type “doublelist://message?username=Name” to respond to a message.

For example, if I had several messages from someone named Henry Smith, I could simply use doublelist://message?username=Henry+Smith to access them.

This will bring up a new page with all of his messages visible for viewing and responding to.

Step 4: Paste or type your email address into the box

One common issue with web-based email clients is that users must either copy and paste their address or type it out by hand.

This is where you come into play. Enter or paste your email address into the Email box. The user will be able to send you a message from within their email client, and Doublelist will notify you when they do.

They can then communicate with you one-on-one via an instant messaging system.

Step 5: Input your password

This is where you’d type in your password, after which, you will see all of your messages in chronological order after entering your password.

If you find any messages that are not yours or appear suspicious, you can delete them by clicking the X button next to each message.

If a message is particularly important, drag it into one of your folders (or simply click anywhere within it) to save it for later viewing.

If you have certain contacts who send messages frequently, you can also set up notifications.

Depending on your preferences, you can make these notifications silent or audible. Finally, tap the Close button in the top right corner of the screen.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully used Doublelist to check messages!
