Main duties of the job
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
The Senior Health Care Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding that enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines, and policies. S/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
Assist with the induction, supervision, training, and development of Band 2 Health Care Assistants under the supervision of a registered nurse.
There is the opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.
To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.

- NVQ Level 3 or Diploma Level 3 or equivalent
- Evidence of literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE or equivalent

Experience

- Previous experience of working with patients in a hospital environment
- Previous experience in teamwork

- Previous experience in customer care

- Ability to learn new skills quickly.

- Basic computer /keyboard skills
- Ability to understand and undertake monitoring of patients’ vital signs
