Summary

Plaza Services Limited (PSL) is a CQC Registered Home Care Provider giving compassionate, professional and trusted care across the Midlands and Staffordshire. We are seeking Care Assistants to enable adults, young adults and older people to live securely and freely in their own homes and communities. Working as a Home Carer, Live-In Carer, and Elderly Care Worker.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care needs, including washing, bathing, clothing, grooming, and continence support
• Give medication promptly and precisely as per individual care plans
• Prepare healthy meals and assist customers with eating, drinking, and hydration
• Develop real trusted relationships with each client, providing companionship and emotional support
• Help with minor housework such as cleaning, washing, and shopping errands
• Support clients with dementia, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and palliative/end-of-life care needs
• Provide escort and support to GP appointments, hospital visits, and community activities
• Live in the client’s house and provide 24-hour a day, 7 days a week support throughout the placement.
• Support older clients with their mobility, daily routines, and meaningful activities that promote well-being and independence
• Liaise with families, health professionals, and the PSL team regarding client wellbeing and any changes in condition
• Keep each client’s house safe, tidy, and comfortable
• Complete accurate, timely care records & daily logs after each visit or shift
• Immediately report any concerns, incidents, or changes in the client’s condition to the care coordinator.

Work History

Key:

• Compassionate, caring, patient, reliable in character – this is more important than qualifications
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
• Willing to undergo an upgraded DBS check (PSL will support with the application procedure)
• The right to work in the UK

Desired:

• Previous experience in domiciliary care, live-in care, or geriatric support (welcome but not needed – complete induction and training provided)
• Experience in supporting clients with dementia, complicated care needs, or end-of-life care
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, Care Certificate, or similar certification.
• Experience in long-term live-in placements (often 2-4 weeks on, 2 weeks off)
• Understanding of CQC guidelines, safeguarding, and person-focused care
