Table of Contents

Provide high-quality, personalised maternity care to women and their babies across different clinical settings.
-
Rotate through community midwifery, midwifery-led units, antenatal and postnatal wards, the Central Delivery Suite, Transitional Care Unit and Maternity Triage Unit.

Support women during pregnancy, labour, childbirth and the postnatal period.
-
Work autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and senior midwifery leaders.
-
Coordinate clinical activities and support junior colleagues.
-
Identify changes in patients’ conditions and escalate concerns appropriately.
-
Participate in on-call duties and contribute to service improvement.
-
Engage in continuous professional development and help improve maternity care services.
Requirements
-
Hold current UK professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a valid NMC PIN.

Have consolidated clinical practice as a Band 6 Midwife.

Possess an assessor and mentor qualification.

Demonstrate leadership, management and extended clinical midwifery skills.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Demonstrate teaching skills and the ability to support colleagues.
-
Be motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and flexible with duties and shifts.

Be able to work independently, solve problems and use initiative.
-
Demonstrate the ability to prioritise patients’ needs using an evidence-based approach.

Be willing and able to travel around Bristol when undertaking community duties.

Meet the required Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
