About the Position

We are looking for a bricklayer with a keen eye for detail to join our expanding construction team.

The chosen applicant will be working on a range of residential and small commercial building projects across the Highlands.

We are searching for a devoted professional who takes pleasure in their masonry work, has outstanding attention to detail and is committed to craftsmanship and workplace safety.

Principal Responsibilities

• Good understanding of technical drawings, construction plans and site layouts.
• Lay Brick or Block using Measure, Prepare, Align and Level Work Areas
• Use necessary hand tools and mechanical equipment to prepare, mix and apply mortar.
• Lay bricks, concrete blocks and natural stone to specified requirements assuring accuracy, durability of the structure and structural integrity.
• Construct, install and repair building frameworks and structures, such as windows and door openings.
• Complete masonry repairs and restoration work, matching existing materials and finishes.
• Work with site supervisors, architects and other construction professionals to ensure quality and progress of the project.
• Use proper bonding and reinforcement strategies for building structures that last.
• Keep the workplace clean and tidy and in good order in compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) rules.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in bricklaying or general construction work.
• Alternatively a certified bricklaying apprenticeship or considerable practical on the job training.
