Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Radiologist (with a specialist interest in Urology) to strengthen a team of 20+ Consultant radiologists, 3 international Clinical Fellows, 2 Clinical Fellows and 6 Registrars at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
Applicants must have obtained the FRCR or equivalent.
Urology subspeciality required, non vascular intervention would also be considered depending on skill set.
This post is for a 12 month fixed term position.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will participate in the radiological workload of the department. He/she will undertake sub-specialty work in Urology in addition to general cross sectional reporting including CT, MRI, IR and ultrasound according to the requirements of the department and the experience of the candidate and supporting MDT’s.The needs of our patients are at the heart of everything we do; but we are equally committed to the wellbeing of the teams who provide an impressive range of services for a population of about 325,000 across four major sites. Qualifications
Essential
- MBChB or equivilant
- Full GMC Registration
- FRCR
Desirable
- Higher academic qualification (e.g. MD, PhD or MSc).
- Further qualifications in subspeciality
- CCT or equivalent and on the Specialist Register within six (6) months of being appointed.
Experience
Essential
- Ability to take full and independent clinical responsibility
- Competence in adult general, acute and trauma imaging
- Subspecialty experience in Urology
Desirable
- Experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices.
Knowledge
Essential
- Completion of recognised Speciality Training Programme or equivalent leading to accreditation with Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent, or within six months of completion of such at the time of interview.
- Appropriate experience and training in the sub-specialty.
Desirable
- Higher academic qualification (e.g. MD, PhD or MSc).
