Job Overview

We are looking for a caring and dedicated Care Worker to offer excellent help and support in a variety of different care environments. As a Care Worker, you will provide individual support, promote independence, and ensure safety, making a difference to the quality of life of the people you care for. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the elderly, those with disabilities, or those recovering from illness in a dynamic and gratifying workplace.

Accountabilities

• Deliver person-focused care to the requirements of individual care plans
• Help clients with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and other personal care needs.
• Support with medication and health monitoring in line with care plans and workplace procedures.
• Prepare meals and help with domestic duties as required.
• Provide company and emotional support, while encouraging independence and dignity.
• Provide mental-health, reablement, and palliative/end-of-life-care for people who have dementia, in accordance with their evaluated needs.
• Monitor the clients’ wellbeing and report any changes or concerns immediately.
• Maintain accurate and private patient care records.
• Follow safeguarding protocols, company rules and relevant CQC care standards.
• Collaborate with families, colleagues and other experts to provide continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home or home care settings greatly preferred
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care and senior care practices
• A plus is certification or training in first aid and CPR.
• Ability to securely carry large weight while supporting clients with mobility or transfers.
• Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude for caregiving
• Transportation duties: Valid driving licence and clean driving record
• Ability to work multiple shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
