Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

• Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society.

Desirable

• A 1st Class honours degree in Psychology or
• A 2nd class honours degree in Psychology and a good master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Neuroscience, Neuropsychology).
• Post-graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, neuropsychology and/or research design and analysis

Experience

Essential

• Relevant clinical work in a health/social care setting.
• Experience of clinically relevant research or audit

Skills & Abilities

Essential

• High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings dealing with highly sensitive issues.
• Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues.
• An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with long-term health problems and/or cognitive impairment.
• An ability to apply existing knowledge in a neuropsychological context.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, SPSS and common data analyses.

Desirable

• High standard of report writing.

Communication

Essential

• Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.

Personal and People Development

Essential

• An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines.
• An ability to interact with people with long-term physical and/or mental health problems.
• Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.

Desirable

• An interest in Neuropsychology
