Bridges Care Services Pty Ltd are looking for Community Workers to join our numerous homes across Sydney, Victoria and the Regional Area NSW and VIC. This is a full time role.

You will be working with people with a range of mental and physical disabilities – encouraging them to participate with their community, improve their independence and live a life they love.

Job Description

• Provide community access support – from trips for recreation to routine appointments or aiding clients in their home.
• Help clients gain confidence in navigating public spaces and social settings.
• Work with persons with a variety of mental health and physical challenges.
• Foster development of life skills, goal setting and pleasant daily habit.
• Provide emotional support companionship and transportation.
• Assessment of client needs and the planning, development, and implementation of educational, training, and support programs.
• Interviewing clients in order to determine specific problems and then customising assistance to match the individual’s needs.
• Work with families, welfare agencies, government organisations and private enterprises to identify and address major community issues.
• Offer psychological and emotional support to enable clients to manage personal problems.
• Preparing proposals and reports for financing and resource to government and other entities.

About Yourself

• Commitment to inclusiveness, empowerment and community participation.
• Prior experience working in disability, mental health or juvenile support is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional boundaries.
• Open to working with personal support and flexible habits.
• Confident working with clients from varied, socioeconomically challenged backgrounds.
• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Comfortable with technology.

Essential Requirements

• C.P.R. And First Aid
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Police Check NSW
• National Police Check (or local residents – NSW Police Check)
• Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, community services, etc.
• 3 years experience in a related field

Salary

$80,000.00 – $85,000.00 Annually
