Description

• Join a team of 25 Consultant Radiologists providing diagnostic imaging services at Torbay District General Hospital, community sites and a Community Diagnostic Centre.

• Full-time permanent consultant post, contracted for 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week.

• Specialist interests may be accommodated depending on the specialty.

• On-call duties are supported by Radiology Registrars.

• Closing date: 17 November 2026.

• Visa sponsorship: Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic reports, clinical advice and expert opinions across a range of patient cases.

• Support timely patient assessment, treatment and clinical decision-making.

• Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred radiology care.

• Provide clinical leadership and supervise junior doctors and specialty doctors.

• Teach and train undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and junior staff.

• Comply with the Trust’s clinical and corporate governance policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in the NHS.

• Current UK professional registration.

• Ability to provide expert clinical and diagnostic opinions across a range of conditions.

• English proficiency equivalent to GCSE Grade C or above, IELTS, or graduation from a UK medical school.

• Desirable: Inclusion on the Specialist Register or working towards registration.

• Desirable: Ability to take independent responsibility for patient care and supervise multidisciplinary teams.

• Successful completion of the required Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

• Overseas applicants may need criminal record certificates from countries where they have lived for the required periods.
