This is an opportunity to become part of a team that provides nursing care to children and young people in a variety of community settings.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care, undertaking a full range of routine care and clinical tasks for children and young people in our care as directed by the registered nurse within the Community Children’s Nursing service.
You will work alongside registered nurses and MDT within the community children’s services in Harrow.
You will need to be NMC registered, and will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and Professional guidelines.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
- Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
Desirable
- Clinical skills such as enteral feeding, observations, oxygen monitoring.
- Tracheostomy knowledge and experience.

- Understand the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in the context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation; including how the role may contribute to service development.
- Understand and act in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
- Understand requirements for NMC professional revalidation.
- Understand the importance of following procedures, policies and treatment or care plans.
- Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
- Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.

- Ability to communicate effectively, written, verbal, or non-verbal communication, with parents/carers and young people
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues.
