• Job title: Bank Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6).
• Employer: Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
• Location: London, United Kingdom.
• Employment: Full-time staff-bank/temporary work.
• The Trust is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapists (SLTs) with specialist skills across several clinical areas.
• The role provides specialist Speech & Language Therapy for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
• Work may be available across both acute hospital and community settings.
• Specialist areas include:
  • Complex dysphagia.
  • Altered airways and intensive care.
  • Head and neck cancer, including laryngectomy and surgical voice restoration
  • Acute medicine.
  • Older adults.
  • Adults with learning disabilities.
  • Stroke and neurological rehabilitation.
• Videofluoroscopy and FEES competence is highly desirable.
• Successful applicants join the Staff Bank and are contacted when suitable shifts or lines of work become available.

Requirements

• A recognised degree leading to a licence to practise as a Speech & Language Therapist.
• Relevant postgraduate specialist training.
• Additional specialist training relevant to the particular role.
• Significant specialist experience working with adults who have communication and swallowing disorders.
• Relevant specialist clinical skills and competencies.
• Experience providing formal or informal training to other professionals.
• Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
• Applicants requiring Skilled Worker visa sponsorship are welcome to apply and will be considered alongside other applicants.
• Successful applicants are subject to the required Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
