No previous Audiology experience? No problem. We’ll provide all the training and support you need. We are looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
This post starts as a Band 3 to progress to a Band 4 post, qualified
Main duties of the job
- The Trainee Associate Audiologist works as a member of the Audiology team under the direct and indirect supervision of an Audiologist. The post will involve direct patient care, dealing with routine enquiries and performing routine non-complex tasks daily, which will include hearing aid repair and maintenance.
- There will be a mix of both clinical and administrative duties which have clearly defined protocols and procedures.
- As competencies progress, they will provide routine adult hearing aid maintenance under indirect supervision, undertake some basic diagnostic assessments and interpret basic clinical results/data. Some administrative support duties may also be required.
- The post is designed as a progressive role, undertaking practical and theoretical training in all aspects, including completing a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology and achieving a Band 4, Associate Audiologist role.
- The role requires full engagement in all aspects of the training, including all elements of theory and practice and all tri-partite reviews. The post holder will be required to attend University and must adhere to all University deadlines for submission of work. You will be required to maintain records of all ‘on the job’ learning.
