The States of Guernsey are looking for a Senior Orthopaedic Practitioner to join the Outpatients Department based at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
The post holder has management responsibility for staff within the plaster room on a daily basis, prioritising the workload and delegating appropriately under the guidance of the Outpatient Manager.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of the casting/splinting service provision across a wide and varied patient group via referral, throughout HSC and its peripherals.
Will be responsible for the skilled application and removal of casts and braces, including complex applications in Theatre, i.e., Scoliosis jackets, hip spicas.
Provide optimum quality of care to patients, offering support to the MDT, and required to take management responsibility for the plaster room on each shift.
To practice in accordance with HSC standards and statutory requirements, and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies.

Essential
- British Casting Certificate
- Must demonstrate continuous CPD in relevant clinical areas.
Desirable
- Teaching and assessing qualification.
