Description

• Join Aston University’s Digital Services Desktop Support team.

• Provide second-line IT support to university staff and students.

• Install, configure, maintain and retire computers, laptops, tablets and related equipment.

• Work on campus five days a week.

• The role offers technical training and opportunities for career development.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and operating-system problems.

• Set up and deploy end-user devices and accessories.

• Provide responsive, customer-focused technical support.

• Record support cases accurately and maintain clear documentation.

• Coordinate with colleagues, suppliers and service partners.

• Prioritise support requests and manage tasks independently.

• Share technical knowledge and help develop other team members.

• Occasionally lift equipment and work outside normal hours.

Requirements

• A degree or HND in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience working in a busy, customer-focused IT environment.

• Confidence supporting computers, devices and operating systems.

• Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Experience in a university or large organisation is advantageous but not essential.
