Qualifications,

Essential

• A-levels and GCSEs or equivalent(s), including Functional Skills (level 2)
• Foundation degree in Health and Social Care, or equivalent level 5 qualification

Desirable

• Completion of the NHS Care Certificate

Experience

Essential

• Substantial experience working in a health and/or care setting. Experience of working with children

Desirable

• Experience of working with children with additional needs
• Experience in delivering intervention programmes under the guidance of a qualified practitioner
• Working with professionals from other agencies i.e. health, social care, or education

Skills and abilities

Essential

• Good communication and listening skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to organise, plan, and prioritise own workload
• Good time management skills
• Computer literacy and keyboard skills i.e., email, word processing, and file management

Desirable

• Able to use Excel
• Able to use EMIS

Knowledge and understanding

Essential

• Child development
• Occupational Therapy role in the paediatric setting
• Broad understanding of safeguarding themes

• Knowledge of trust safeguarding procedures
• Knowledge of the NHS values and priorities
