Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal applicant will be responsible for the safe and effective transportation of goods to a variety of locations, ensuring timely deliveries and outstanding customer service is maintained. This post will have you working in a fast-paced setting to ensure we run our logistical operations smoothly.

Functions

• Safely drive company vehicles, such as vans, to deliver goods to clients and customers.
• Plan your delivery routes for maximum efficiency and minimum delays.
• Loading and unloading things (perhaps heavy lifting), ensuring that all packages are safely secured while in transit.
• Verify delivery information and take signatures or evidence of delivery as necessary.
• Keep correct records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
• Call dispatch or warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules or any problems discovered on route.
• You must obey all traffic laws and safety rules when you are driving.
• Helping out with warehouse work while not on delivery routes e.g., stock organising and stock checks.

Skills

• Demonstrated experience as a Delivery Driver or in a comparable position in logistics or warehousing settings.
• Valid driving licence with a clean driving record. Commercial driving licence (CDL) a plus.
• Experience in driving a range of vehicles, including vans and HGVs.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
• Able to carry high weights when loading/unloading products safely.
• Good organisational abilities and the ability to plan routes effectively.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety rules as they pertain to commercial driving.
• Ability to drive for extended durations and perform manual activities.
