Job Summary
This post is permanent and full-time to meet the needs of the Children Looked After Service.
The post holder will work to support the role of the Children Looked After Nurses, maintaining and promoting the health needs of the children looked after within the West area. Based within a community setting, the Nursery Nurse will provide a service to families/carers as identified in the needs assessment carried out by the team.
The post holder will take a key role in delivering parenting/carer support, health promotion, and programmes of care on an individual basis and group work. The post holder will be an important member of a skill mix team, contributing to the overall health care offered to individuals, families, and communities.
Main duties of the job
- Support Children Looked After Nurses in delivering health promotion within the home, clinic, and other community-based settings as agreed.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Health Care Plan as per the Health Board, and/or service level agreement and directed by the Children Looked After Nurses.
- Following initial assessment by Children Looked After Nurses or Paediatrician, carry out delegated programmes/packages of care or follow up health needs at home or in clinic.
- Undertake screening and/or other health-related and developmental assessments.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- BTEC level 3 Diploma in Early Years or CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education, Level 3 (2-year course) or NVQ/QCF level 3 in Early Years and Education or NNEB/National Diploma in Childhood Studies

- NVQ/QCF level 4 in Early Years and Education
Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working with infants, children, and parents/carers.

- Experience in a community or health-related field. Experience in facilitating groups.
