Essential

• Registration Mental Health Nurse RMN
• Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC
• Good standard of written and spoken English

Desirable

• Qualifications and experience in the assessment of students

Knowledge

Essential

• Understanding of / and the ability to conduct assessments and reviews of care.
• Knowledge of current best practices and models within nursing practice in mental health
• Commitment to ongoing learning through CPD

Desirable

• Knowledge of working with external agencies involved in the care of people with mental illness
• Experience of supervising junior staff and completion of yearly appraisals
• Facilitate group work

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Able to formally supervise junior colleagues
• Deliver training to colleagues and lower banded staff
• Knowledge and understanding of health legislation, principles of CPA and Care Management, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act 1983, safeguarding, the NHS Constitution, and risk assessment/management
