Job summary

The post holder has responsibility for delivering the improvement strategies in the Trust’s Business Continuity Management. This is a key function of the Trust as a Category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and the post holder supports the Trust’s legal obligations under the Act.

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the development of the culture and environment in which Business Continuity Management is embedded at all levels to ensure resilience.

The post holder will provide the required assurances to the Head of EPRR (Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response) that the Trust’s Business Continuity Management is fit for purpose, legal and has been tested, assessed, inspected and scrutinised.

• Master’s Degree (or working towards)

• Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. the Emergency Planning Society or Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management

• Expert knowledge and understanding of the following: – Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS EPRR Core Standards Assurance Process
• Experience of training and delivery of exercises to staff of all levels
