We need skilled electricians and mechanics who can maintain our machines functioning smoothly. Your job will assist in keeping our manufacturing lines running smoothly every day so we can make Walkers crisps, one of the UK’s most popular snacks.
You will give Engineering and Operations a lot of technical support, making sure that planned maintenance tasks are done and reactive maintenance tasks are supported. You will also give technical input on all engineering-related tasks.
Days of Work
A total of 42 hours over 3.5 days per week: three 12-hour day shifts (06:30–18:30) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, which are in line with site engineering shutdowns, plus an extra 6 hours on Fridays (06:30–12:30).
Duties:
- Make sure all planned maintenance is completed in coordination with Maintenance Planners, the Line Engineering Lead, and Manufacturing Technicians.
- Give Shift Technicians and Operations teams more help when they need it.
- Connect with the Controls System Specialist, Electrical Duty Holder, and Reliability & Condition
- Monitoring Specialist to help finish preventative work orders and do an in-depth study of countermeasures
- Support Specialist teams help with finishing tasks and making things better all the time.
- Help make sure that maintenance plans, task instructions, and store holdings are all proper.
- Lead and support changes through CI projects and preventative activities, such as health and safety and food safety actions.
- Buy vitamins and supplements
- Make sure that root cause analysis is done and owned.
- Making Visual Management for planned maintenance jobs
- Site ambassador for engineering standards and best practices
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or an engineering apprenticeship with hands-on experience.
- An academic degree in electrical or mechanical engineering that is recognised.
- A lot of understanding about how machines work.
- Knowing how to use CMMS and SCADA systems.
- Good knowledge of technical and equipment standards.
- A feeling of responsibility for safety, quality, and performance.
- Skills for solving problems.
- Good talking.
Pay and Benefits
- £52,370.34 a year, which includes a shift allowance
- Quarterly Incentive: If the site team’s KPIs are met or exceeded, you can earn between £1,200 and £3,000 a year.
