Job Overview

We are seeking a committed Office Manager to support our operational and administrative tasks as part of our team’s commitment to providing outstanding service.

The Home Care Assistant is in charge of giving clients practical assistance and personal care in their homes so they can live comfortably and freely. The position entails providing individualised, high-quality care while guaranteeing each client’s safety, well-being, and dignity at all times. To deliver outstanding care services, the home care assistant will collaborate closely with clients, their families, and the larger care team.

Principal Duties

Self-care

  • Help clients with everyday personal care activities, including clothing, grooming, washing, using the restroom, and maintaining their continence.
  • assistance with transfers and mobility, including the safe use of wheelchairs, hoists, and walking aids.
  • Help clients take their prescription drugs, adhere to care plans, and make sure they do so safely and on schedule.
  • Assist clients in maintaining their comfort and personal hygiene so they feel secure and well-cared for.

Useful Support

  • Make sure the client’s living space is secure and pleasant by helping with home chores, including light cleaning, laundry, and tidying.
  • Ensure that customers’ nutritional needs are satisfied by preparing meals and beverages in accordance with their dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Help customers shop by going shopping with them or doing shopping chores for them.

Companionship and Emotional Support

  • Assist clients in maintaining a happy attitude and participating in social activities by offering emotional support and companionship.
  • Engage clients in activities and have conversations to make them feel less alone and isolated, which will enhance their mental and emotional health.
  • When it’s appropriate, encourage and assist clients in keeping up their interests, going to appointments, and taking part in community events.

Observation and Reporting

  • Keep an eye on the health, safety, and well-being of your customers and record any changes in their condition or behaviour.
  • Notify the Care Coordinator or Registered Manager right away of any issues, events, or modifications to the clients’ needs.
  • Keep thorough and current records, including prescription administration, care notes, and any other pertinent paperwork.

Interaction and Cooperation

  • To guarantee that care plans are adhered to and updated as needed, effectively communicate with clients, their families, and other care providers.
  • Work together with coworkers and medical specialists to guarantee continuity of treatment and address clients’ evolving needs.
  • Engage in active participation in care plan reviews, offering input on clients’ development and any modifications to their requirements or preferences.

Safety and Health

  • To protect clients’ safety and well-being, abide by all health and safety legislation and the company’s policies and procedures.
  • To lower hazards and safeguard both clients and employees, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to infection control procedures.
  • To reduce risks and avoid accidents, support the implementation of risk assessments and adhere to safe work practices.

Confidentiality and Compliance

  • Ensure that the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) guidelines and any pertinent laws are followed.
  • Respect data protection laws pertaining to customer records and personal information and uphold client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications and Skills Needed

Experience

  • Caregiving experience, ideally in a home care or domiciliary setting (recommended but not necessary as training will be provided).

Learning

  • Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 or its equivalent is preferred but not required.

Communication Proficiency

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the capacity to establish a good rapport with clients and their families.
