Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

• 5 GCSEs grade C or above to include Maths and English (or equivalent). These will be requested before being invited to an assessment.
• University entry requirements: 3 A levels or Equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC National Diploma or NVQ Level 3 – in science-related subjects (physics, biology or chemistry)
• On entry into programme: Demonstrate a willingness to undertake the radiographer practitioner degree apprenticeship course to gain professional registration with HCPC (Failure to achieve this would result in termination of contract)
• Be able to demonstrate continuous professional development.
• Please note that on successful completion of the three year apprenticeship programme, the post holder will achieve a BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiography degree.
• Apprentices whose first language is not English need to meet IELTS requirements of at least 7.0 overall and no less than 6.5 in any other section

Desirable

• Good understanding of legislation relating to Health and Safety and radiation protection

Experience

Essential

• Evidence of interest in radiotherapy and its application in healthcare
• Able to use Microsoft Office. Able to use hospital ICT systems

Desirable

• Recent clinical experience working in the radiotherapy department
• Recent experience of working with service users within the healthcare setting
• Experience in carrying out assigned duties /assisting qualified radiotherapy staff

• Right to remain and work in the United Kingdom. If you are here on a visa, your visa length must exceed the length of the apprenticeship course. Candidates must have been resident in the UK for the previous three years at the start of study (depending on visa status). Candidates must live in England.
• Candidates must not be in any other funded training through the Adult Education Budget (AEB) or from the Department for Education (DfE)
