The successful candidate will competently perform a range of radiographic techniques, effectively plan and prioritise their own workload, and provide guidance and supervision to other staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality, responsive diagnostic imaging within a collaborative team environment.
Under the delegation of the Dental Principal, Radiographer and Education Lead, the post holder will also contribute to the clinical education and training of staff and students within the department.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an effective member of the team, delivering a high standard of X-ray and Cone Beam CT services with a strong emphasis on outstanding patient care.
They will be expected to maintain a consistently high standard of work and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of radiographic practices and patient care within Liverpool Dental Hospital.
Key responsibilities include:
- Making informed decisions by assessing patient records and referral information to select the most appropriate imaging intervention from a range of options, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Participating in the vetting of Cone Beam CT examinations.
- Communicating effectively with Trust staff, including support staff, professional colleagues, managers, and consultants, to ensure imaging procedures are appropriate to the patient’s condition.
- Providing specialist advice to junior staff and colleagues, acting as a role model, and playing an active role in maintaining and improving staff morale across all staff groups.
- Deputising for the Principal Radiographer when required, including the fair and effective allocation of tasks to team members to manage departmental workload efficiently.
