Summary of Job

We are seeking an experienced and well-organised Logistics Manager to monitor and improve our supply chain operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for Category Management, Process Improvement Initiatives and Transportation Management Systems to enable efficient movement of products. This is a great chance for a proactive individual with solid experience in logistics, warehouse management and data analysis to contribute to the continual improvement of our logistics services. The Logistics Manager will direct a team of employees in shipping & receiving, materials handling, and warehouse functions and ensure compliance with safety requirements and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category management strategies to optimise stock levels and minimise expenses.
• Lead initiatives for process improvement of all logistical activities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure service levels are maintained in line with organisational requirements.
• Arrange shipping and receiving activities to guarantee quick dispatch and reception of goods.
• Utilise ERP systems such as AS400 for order processing, inventory control, and reporting.
• Oversee material handling operations, including safe operation of forklifts and other equipment.
• Use logistics data to discover trends, optimise routes, and improve overall supply chain performance.
• Ensure health and safety laws are met in warehouse environments.
• Manage a team of warehouse staff in the picking and packing duties, training as required.
• Work with cross-functional teams to help plan and execute the supply chain.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in logistics management in a fast-paced setting.
• Good understanding of category management, process optimisation and supply chain principles;
• Practical usage of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400, and data analysis tools.
• Experience with third-party logistics (3PL) operations, shipping & receiving procedures and materials handling equipment, including forklift.
• Experience with process improvement approaches such as Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
• Previous warehouse experience in picking & packing procedures is necessary.
