Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and inventive team within Cardiff and Vale UHB. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Shaping Change Team to help us support the creation and delivery of significant projects that provide services that deliver optimum patient care, ensure effective use of resources, and foster a culture that is progressive and inclusive.
The successful post holder will work with a range of partners across the Health Board and will play a key role in enabling, supporting, and increasing the organisation’s project maturity through robust project management processes, focused both on structures that simplify change and supporting the people who enable it.
For this post, we are looking for applicants with a demonstrated track record of delivering change and/or transformation projects across complex organisations and systems, an in-depth understanding of project management tools and methodologies, and a suitable educational background.

Job Title: Project Manager
Employment Type Full-Time
Salary: £50,129 – £57,365 p.a.
Place: Cardiff
Main duties of the role
Reporting directly to the Head of Change Support and supporting the Assistant Director of Improvement, Implementation & Spread, offering wide-ranging expert project management advice and implementation across major Cardiff and Vale priorities.
The post holder will be expected to provide project mentoring, facilitate workshops, drive best practice, support the design and shape of projects, help develop project management capability across the organisation and project manage key projects to ensure top performance and delivery of programme aims. The job holder must have great communication and interpersonal abilities.
Welsh language skills would be an advantage for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Skills
- Degree or similar experience
- A project or people management qualification or comparable experience to post graduate diploma level.
- PRINCE II methodology (Practitioner) or any other accredited project management qualification.
Work History
- Extensive expertise with service re-design (with documented advantages) in a complicated environment.
- Evidence of top management of service change.
- Experience/knowledge of working inside the NHS or other large complex organisation in delivering or managing operational services or change projects.
Specialised Knowledge
- Experience in producing high quality project documentation including business cases and project plans.
- Comprehensive awareness of national, regional and local concerns and critical performance drivers in health service delivery.
- Proficiency in the use of MS-Office suite of applications including Word, Excel and Power Point.
