Qualifications

Essential

• Good standard of basic education to include GCSE maths and English (A-C) or equivalent.
• NVQ/QCF level 3 e.g. AGORED diploma plus additional training to diploma level or equivalent or equivalent via short course and experience and competencies achieved through accredited course

Experience

Essential

• Relevant experience of working in a rehabilitation / clinical setting
• Organisation of delegated workload to support direct patient care
• Inter-professional team working
• Involvement with carers and families.

Desirable

• Previous experience of therapy assistant role

Skills

Essential

• Acts in accordance with Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales
• Basic IT skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and to seek appropriate advice.
• Ability to work flexibly in a range of settings including hospital and community

Special Knowledge

Essential

• Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the other professions in the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
• Knowledge of teaching skills appropriate to adults, and knowledge of learning styles.
