About the Job
We are looking for a Senior Healthcare Assistant who is dedicated and has experience to join our growing care team. This is a senior frontline position that includes both high-quality hands-on care and leadership duties to make sure that services are delivered safely, effectively, and with the person in mind.
You will be a role model for the care professionals, help supervise team members, and help the Team Leader and Management Team with client monitoring, quality assurance, and care coordination.

Main Duties: Clinical and Care Duties
- Follow each person’s care plan and give them high-quality, person-centred care.
- Help with personal care tasks like washing, dressing, grooming, and caring for incontinence
- Help clients move about, make transfers, and utilise equipment safely.
- Give out and keep track of prescriptions according to business policy
- Keep an eye on, write down, and report vital signs and changes in the client’s condition.
- Help with food, water, and meal prep
- Give care that focuses on emotional support, friendship, and dignity.
- Keep the care environment clean, safe, and comfortable.
Responsibilities for Seniors and Leaders
- Be the main point of contact for caretakers during shifts
- Help the Team Leader by giving staff instructions, doing spot inspections, and supervising in the field.
- Help new care staff learn by mentoring and shadowing them
- Encourage safe work habits, high standards of care, and best practices.
- Help with care plan reviews and tell management about any problems
- Talk to families and healthcare professionals in a professional way
- Help with reporting incidents and following safety rules
- Make sure that records and documents are kept correctly.
- Help in planning visits and coordinating the support rota when needed.
- Set a good example to encourage teamwork, professionalism, and kindness.
Important Skills and Experience
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare or home care setting
- Experience giving out medicine and keeping MAR records
- A good awareness of person-centred care and safety protocols
- Experience helping or coaching other care workers
- Confident in spotting and reporting clinical problems
- Great communication and people skills
- Ability to work alone and run shifts well
- Good at organising and managing your time
- Able to keep records and write care notes well
- A caring, professional, and dependable way to give care
Qualifications that are desired
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working toward it)
- Training for Giving Medications
- Training in Moving and Handling
- Experience helping clients with complicated demands
